Our Story
Opening the first escape room in Nebraska (west of Lincoln) didn’t happen overnight. It did happen in about 4 weeks though!
Sounds a little crazy doesn’t it?!? We think so, too!
As we were making the long drive back to Hastings from a birthday weekend in Omaha, the idea for “Trapped Downtown” was hatched in the cozy confines of our Hyundai Elantra. My wife successfully conquered an escape room in Omaha the day before so we began talking about the experience that she and her friends had.
After discussing the room design and theme, how challenging some of the puzzles were, and (of course) how long it took, we knew we had to open up our own business in downtown Hastings, NE!
Seven years later and we’re still going strong…
From our first room (The Storage Room) to our newest rooms, we couldn’t have made it this far without our awesome guests! Thank you to everyone who continues to support our locally-owned downtown business!
